Hi just bought and waiting on a EK Supreme waterblock for CPU, now i have read that its very advisable to purchase a backplate, just to revlieve the stress from the motherboard. Thing is do i have to purchase one? or will the backplate (i'm sure i have it somewhere) i have from my TT bigwater WC block do the same job, surely the 775 plate that came with my current block will have to have the same holes in the same place? But i just need to check for my upgrade thats taking place saturday

Help would be gratefully recieved :)

My tuniq tower one worked with me EK block just had to drill holes out in it to take new screws!

So yes it should:cool:

Yeah I had to drill the holes on my backplate as the screws for the EK are very fat. The TT backplate will be fine other than having to widen the holes a little.

Brilliant, thanks for that! My drilling leaves a lot to be desired but hey whats the worst that can happen? :D

All i hope is that it will now fit the MSI Neo2-FR i just ordered  Those heatsinks look worryingly close

There are revised mounting plates avalible for the supreme which have only the mounting you need not all the other holes and are much slimmer. I'm sure i have seen them somwhere but i don't think ocuk stock them or take a file to it.
