As some of you know, I have an impressive collection of "films'. If I lost them, I would cry.
At present, they are all sitting on an external hard disk. How can I protect them from getting destroyed should the hard disk ever break? Backup to elsewhere? If so, where?

Copy to a second harddisk.

Just nail the drive to a solid surface so it's less likely to drop and get trampled by marauding wilderbeast.

Or, you could copy it all onto VHS :)

Team up with a friend.

Each run a true RAID level on a big NAS, and split the space 50:50 between you both. Keep a copy on your NAS box, and upload a copy to your friend's.

I have a mivix media player with a 320gb hdd in it, but also I have another 320gb hdd in a external that I use to backup with, cos like you I would cry if the hdd in my mp broke and I never had a backup.. Like Ive only got about 60gb left on the 320gb drive
