Backing up a driver for use on another PC

I have an HP plotter in my room which currently only prints from my 32 bit Win 7 laptop by USB.

I downloaded the drivers from the HP website to re-install it on my Desktop and it doesn't seem to work anymore!

I've had it working correctly on Win 7 64bit on another laptop setup to print over the network earlier in the year, it's currently working on Win 7 32 bit by USB.

However no matter what I do I can't seem to get it to work on clean installs of Windows 7 64 or 32 bit by network or USB now!

I don't know if the drivers have changed or what, but I really want to back up the driver I have currently working on the 32 bit Win 7 laptop install. Any advice please?

Silly question, but have you tried just uninstalling the drivers and plugging it back in?

Win7 has not failed once to recognise all the old printers I have plugged in and doenloaded the drivers itself.

Yes mate, it's a problem that's been bugging me all summer but I've only really got around to actioning on it as I really need to start printing from my powerful PC for large banners.
Windows correctly recognises what the printer is, but then says it can't find the driver for it and a gives a code name for the printer C7770C that I'm not familiar with. It's not a standard printer, but a large plotter like this. When I used the official downloaded drivers and point windows towards them I now get errors when I attempt to print.

What's so frustrating is that it installed fine over the network and by USB earlier in the year! I'll pop a post up on the HP support forums later in the week but was hoping to figure out a way to back up my current working driver.
