Hi guys,

I'm looking to backup a desktop PC used as a server/shared folders setup to 6 computers.

Currently the server is being backed up daily to an external hard drive but I would like to get a cloud backup going also.

We have Office 365 with 1TB cloud storage. As onedrive syncs this may not be the best way to backup the server and it's actively syncing/updating files.

I've found a free program called cbackup which lets you schedule Onedrive backups, does anyone have experience with this?

Many thanks

Veeam Agent, it's free, just need to sign up.

Can also backup to OneDrive or USB or network drive.

querry, would you be rotating hard disks at the moment/
i.e. at least keeping one disk off site at a time? if not this would be the first improvement, 1 off site disk and multiple disks incase of disk failure.

could have a look at :
Proxmox Backup Server - https://www.proxmox.com/en/proxmox-backup-server

you also have :
Backblaze - https://www.backblaze.com/cloud-backup.html
but there are some caviates to it. for cloud backup

but i havent used any of them yet.

you could use one drive to back up, just do a scheduled mirror, have the data hosted on a SMB share or something, then on a nightly basis the SMB share is scheduled to sync to a dedicated onedrive locations.
this has a benifit of allowing you to do quick restores also and having at least one back up in the cloud. obviousl depends on your data volum and data change. if its a small data volum you could have bakups to individual folders i.e. monday/tuesday ect. you still have a risk of data encypters/malway lockers but if its hosted on a seporate machine and its the machine accessing the smb risks are reduced i feel.
