Hi.
Im having problems with my phone, ive reported it to Orange, and after a £30 one off fee + £5 extra each month until Nov, they can ship me a new W800 by tommorrow afternoon.
However.
Im unsure on how i can backup my W800. The stuff on the memory card is easy, what about the other stuff though? Contacts, Contact Images, Contact ringtones, calender events?

How do i 'backup' all that?

Thanks in advance.

Sync with the computer, either using the software on the CD or using Float's Mobile Agent. You can back up SMS, calendar and contacts easily enough.

For the contact images, well I guess you'll have to re-assign the images after you get your phone. Or, if you can hold both phones at the same time, bluetooth over the whole phonebook to the new phone and it will transfer the contact pictures too, but if you have a lot of images attached then it will take absolutely ages.

For the various pictures, video files and ringtones etc, you can choose "move file to ext. mem" for all the files in the File Manager.

Should be able to just back it up on your mem stick, if it takes one...probably does as i have the W810i and it gives me the option to back up my contacts onto the mem stick.

bluetooth it to the new one, on sonyericssons u can save all the contacts and stuff to the sim card from the phone memory iirc the option os in the phonebook under options and then advanced

SE Software & FMA dont work for some reason.

Anyway.
Ive done this:
Copyed all the contacts from phone to sim.
Copyed the data on the memory stick to my PCs HDD.
Used a program called 'My Phone Explorer' to backup everything else.

Im gonna redo all the above again when i get up tomorrow.
Then its just a case of giving the courier just my old phone (according to the guy at Orange, just the phone itself is needed, i keep the battery, memory card, accessories, box, ect;.
So hopefully, all going well, at the minimum i'll have my contacts & memory card data, and if it works out alright, my phone will be as if i never changed it.
