ok im new to this iphone usually have androids....first of all cant seem to find how to copy contacts to sim...which i have been informed you cant do this...so is there any app i can use or program that will let me either back up offsite or to a separate place on hdd without using the itunes app...thanks.

All my contacts are on my Gmail, i sync my iP4 with that, Job done.

No need to use iTunes or the OS. :)

ok done it by using a program called idrive lite it lets you upload backup restore all or 1 by 1....not on my pc which is what i really wanted so if anyone else is intrested its idrivelite ...and you can log on to idrivelite.com as well to check them out.

What I did several months ago is the following:

1. Go to google.com/contacts and make sure you have no contacts at all

2. Open iTunes and sync Contacts using iTunes but use the option to sync them to your Google account

3. Next disable the syncing of contacts via iTunes

4. Set up Google sync on your phone using the Exchange details they provide you with.

This then keeps an online backup of all your contacts.

It has worked flawlessly for me and now I ahve a mac, I entered my google credentials into Address Book and they all sync down including photos!

look nice...own messenger like blackberry as well...so out in the next few weeks cant wait.....be like having a new phone lol
