If I'm doing a full backup of my machine, do I need to do "Steam/SteamApps/"?

Is there anything in there that couldn't be restored by downloading the game again? ie: Are there any configs or save games etc in there?

If I could ignore that folder safe in knowing that I can just download the games themselves from Steam without losing anything that would save a lot space/time!

There's an huge FAQ in one of the stickied threads in PC games (and my sig ;)) that covers some of this in detail.

Moving SteamApps will back up your game content, but the majority of games will not store their saves in there.

Best to use something like GameSaveManager to backup your saves and configs, then just restore it back.

A few games will store their saves with Steam Cloud. These games you can just delete and re-download without any fuss.

Thanks... So if I do not backup STEAMAPPS chances are I won't lose anything other than the game runtime, which of course I could just download again. Thanks!

ps: And I'll use GameSaveManager as well!

Only a quarter of a TB?
pfft lightweight, I'm at 450gb of installed stuff :p (and that's after removing a bunch of games).

I'll move this to software.
