Good morning guys.

I was just speaking to a guy I work with, and he caims there's a bit of software which allows you to back up all your drivers on your machine. For instance, I want to format but I don't have a copy of my drivers backed up on disk. There're only installed on the machine.

This software once ran, will find my VGA, Sound drivers ect installed on the machine and then back it up to a media, IE flash drive, CD ect...

Does such a software exsist? I tried Google, with no luck. :(

Thanks all.

Have used the first link and can vouch for it, have only heard good things about the second one, not used it myself.

Exactly what I wanted. Thanks a lot pal. :D

I always put my drivers on my pendrive or on a CD.

Well, yes, that would be a good idea. I do use a 8.5Gb DVD for my drivers. However I can't use them on other people's PCs that I do..;)

It does the same thing..but doesn't list all drivers like Driver Genius does. So it takes time to search which ones you must back up as it even backs up normal USB drivers within XP as well..or the OS...so that would annoy me backing up useless drivers. Otherwise it's fine....:)

Will be sticking to driver genius pro 2006.

Yes, I tried Driver Genius do like it. However having a think about it...Double Driver is a freeware...Driver Genius isn't. Would rather use the Double Driver rather, less hassel when putting it on customer's computers don't you think?

Try Driver Genius, 15 day trail. Run it quick tell me what you think of it..maybe I am rushing it..?

That's what I meant. Unchecking everything is a pain, but I can deal with it, Like I say, I prefer Driver Genius...I will be using the program on a customer's pc in a about an hour and will see how well it works.. :)

To me, they both do the same thing..Double Driver just lists a lot of files you don't need or want to back up as like I say, they are reinstalled when you load Windows again.

Do you have any PC's to try it on?

Just a little update for you:

Double Driver:

It's quicker to back-up drivers from the system to my flash drive. However, it gave a few errors of the sound driver and printer driver that could not find it, so can't back that up. The program gave me no infomation on exact drivers, while backing up.

Driver Genius:

This program takes longer to find and back up drivers. Not much, just a little. However, it seems as this is the program to use. It tells you what drivers it's backing up while doing it. It found all drivers and gave no errors, even did my sound.

The storage location shows me that Driver Genius backed up 54Mb of data where has Double Driver only backed up 51mb of Data.

The next test will be restoring them. At the moment, Driver Genius seems to be the better software to use. ;)

Okay..

Doing the restore now. Unless Driver Genius is registered, you can only restore sound and video drivers. So i got it registered and bought a copy of it. Excellent bit of software, works 100% no problems. Double Driver is a bit buggy for me. Yes, you can back up and restore from any location.

Bought the copy, works great! :D
