I'm going to be moving from XP -> Vista sometime over the weekend.
Currently i have an 80gig OS/Apps partition and around 500gig for data across 2 disks in RAID 0. I also have a large NAS that i'm setting up before the migration.
Last time i re-installed XP, i had no end of problems moving files back after I had backed them up using windows backup and i spent ages sorting out the file permissions etc. This time, I was planning to basically backup everything to the NAS and then move the files back.
Will this work ok? Or will I have permissions issues? Once i move the files to the NAS, I assume the windows security will be redundant, and when i move them back it'll be OK?
(oh and I do realise the length of time that backup is going to take, I am going to leave it overnight!!!)
