Backing Up Files

Hi i decided it might be a good idea to start backing up my PC so i am about to but a 1TB External Hard Drive (any suggestions?) and also some software to do it with. I was wondering what the Vista's Computer Back Up is like compared to other Back Up software?#

Also would it be worth waiting for USB 3 before i get a backup drive?

I got a 500GB Maxtor hard drive today nothing special since i figured i want need to use it too often (hopefully) =) its usb2.0 so 5Hours to copy everything over lol

Its going about about 25meg a second does that sound about right ? Because it claims it can to upto 480mb/s. But looking at my HDtune results its proberly just my failing hard drive lol

So this .tib file that acronis gives you i can boot from and restore everything on my new HDD right?

I got a Samsung Spinpoint F1 (its the one dieing on me slowly) but its still under warrenty

Well this copy program meens if your o/s fails you can put it all back on without reinstalling windows.
