Backing up iTunes

Is there an easy way to back up an iTunes library? Is it just a matter of copying the 'iTunes Music' folder?

Yep, providing iTunes organises all your music for you, rather than manually

Not at all, if you do the music folder you get (wait for it) your music, if you copy the whole itunes folder and replace the one on the new machine/install with it you get everything like your play count and so on as well.
