Backing up my hdd?

Hi, i want to backup my hard drive but im unsure on whats the best way to do this.
i have 1 samsung f3 1tb which everything is on.
i have now bought a second samsung f3 to back everything up.

how would i do this?
i want it so if drive 1 fails i can then just change the boot order to boot from drive 2.
no data loss hopefully.

You can use Acronis to clone the original hard drive data to your new drive, you can set this to automatically do this.

I just create a backup image on my NAS using Acronis, there are some free versions which ifs you have a western drive you can download Acronis though them.

Do you want to back up just the data / media or do you want to backup everything inc the OS?

Acronis would be your best bet, have a look at the windows forum as there were a few free options.

Windows 7 offers a image of the complete system as well without third party software doesnt it?

I set mine to make a image and I now have a 300gig backup on my second drive so I think windows 7 does this anyway.

At least that is what I think, without restoring mine I dont really know
