Guys,

I've only just recently started using outlook as my mail client and I'd like to be able to backup my mail/addresses/settings etc and be able to restore them when I need to.

I've been keeping .pst backups (which I was led to believe would be recoverable) but they did restore anything after my recently rebuild… fortunately I also use webmail so nothing was lost :)

Any ideas?

Cheers!

If you do a Export (making sure you select the top-level folder and tick the 'include subfolders' option) you'll effectively copy everything. That will cover the data at least (email/calendars/contacts/tasks etc).

As for the configuration settings, i don't think that's as straight forward (not sure you can just simply backup a few files and copy them over). May well be wrong though!

Thanks mate - I had another mate confirm with me that you needed to tick the 'include sub-folders' option... my backups then went from being 265kb to about 5mb :D

I'll not worry to much about the config settings, they're not too complex in my situation anyway.

Thanks!
