Dear All,

Just in the process of upgrading from Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Pro and want to fully backup Outlook 2007. I want to backup all settings including folders, all email account settings, EVERYTHING.

Can a can person direct me to some software or a way of comprehensively doing this.

Whenever I have attempted this in the past, I never quite get all the bits I want back.

Many thanks

svan

copying the PST file should get everything apart from the account settings - can you just make a note of them? or use your cpanel to generate a .reg file (or make one)

As the above.

I personally do that with one account.

Very easy to do.:)

http://www.yourdomain.com:2082
brings up your Cpanel

(assuming this is your domain email)
Then in mail, accounts, configure mail client, and you can download a .reg file (which is a double click and restores all your account details)

if it's not your domain, then just write the mailservers, username and password down!

Why would you go to all that bother when easy transfer does all you need > ie: copy all your outlook data including mail accounts, created folders, emails last in your inbox, deleted emails, sent e-mails e.t.c am i missing something ? :)

All you have to do is when restored too win7 is put your password in for your e-mail account when prompted.

Easy transfer from microsoft is for microsoft products such as office it will even replace all firefox setting plug ins e.t.c if wanted.

Hi

Can you explain how to

use your cpanel to generate a .reg file

I don't use cpanel - I just copy the PST file which should get everything apart from the account settings and then I just write them back after making a note of them.

I used

1) Calender (white with orange on top for month)
2) Firefox clock
3) Accuweather - my home area
4) TuneUp Ultitlies
5) Shutdown/Restart/Lock
6) Everest Ultimate v5.30 for cpu,video,ram temp,speed,etc...

Im using Windows 7 HP x64

What has all that got to do with the OP's question about outlook backup...
