Backing up the 360 HD

Is backing up your 360 HD possible? Anyone done this? Is it easy enough to restore?

AFAIK, there are two options - one is to copy your stuff piecemeal onto a memory unit. The other is to use a device (I think it's called DatelX) which allows you to connect the HD to your PC but I might be wrong about that. I have a feeling it allows you to use your PC's HD in addition to the Xbox HD.

This has always been my concern over the much talked about 120gig 360 drive.

Got two options.

First is to buy a Xsata which allows you to connect the hard drive to your PC. costs £30

The second option is to buy a memory card (£20) then buy datel data transfer kit (£10) that allows you to connect your memory card to your PC.

How difficult are the actual hard disks to take off the case?

I highly recommend the XSATA. It saved all my data when I had to get my 360 replaced.
