Backing Up To USB Drive Using Backup Exec?

Im having a few issues trying to setup a backup to usb drive via veritas backup exec...

Basically the job is created and will work fine until the usb drive is swapped for the next weeks one... the backup to disk folder shows as being offline even though it is setup with the same paths as the previous drive.

Are there any backup exec gurus out there to help me out?

been a while since I used Backup Exec but if I remember correctly it does some media initialisation stuff even if it's on a disk, does it work if you stick the old one back in? that would rule out any problem caused by removing the drive.
