Ok,
So i was thinking the other day of building a NAS to stream my media around the house but now i also want to have a place where all the laptops can back up their files.

What i want to know is, is the best way to do it like this.
Have my NAS (Netbook) installed with Windows 7. Have a hard drive mapped to the network and then simply choose this hard drive as the place to backup on the backup software on all the laptops or is there any alternative?

Thanks

Well WHS is expensive :(
I already have Windows 7 so thats why i am thinking of using it. Dont really want to spend a lot on this setup.

Acronis True image home is what you need, install it on your win 7 PC's create a recovery disk for each one, this can back up to a Nas , HDD , external HDD you name it.

Royally saved me yesterday when one drive in my Raid 0 failed.

Just ditched Home server too, little going on with it, was way overkill just for backups.

Just stuck all my 500gb drive in a raid 5 in my media center job done.

But seriously look at acronis best software for this ok it cost's money but not a lot.

Or Macrium Reflect

Saved my bottom just yesterday.

Well I thought it did turned out I have another issue damn server people
