Backing up WordPress

Its not something Ive ever really done but should really do it before its too late! I had a look on the WP help and there are a number of automated add-ons out there but thought I would check in here and make sure I wasn't missing anything.

I assume I'll need to backup the database and all of the files but unsure if this can be done separately or whether an add-on can do both? The files wont change very often I guess and just the database. The site is very basic and doesn't change very frequently but I'd still rather be safe than sorry!

This is my preferred backup plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/backwpup/

It will be able to do everything you want and more. It's quite straight forward but take a look at the setup/readme/faq to get an idea of just how far you can go with it.

I tend to just run a cPanel backup on my sites / customer sites. If you've got cPanel on your web server, it's easy enough to do.

Sorry I can't recommend a plugin!
