Hey guys, complete noob here regarding IPS monitors, got my first one 2 days ago ( LG 27MP77HM-P ). However the depicted blacks seem weird to me, can you please give these screenshots a check and help me figure out if this is normal? I'm not sure if this is a case of backlight bleed / IPS glow or something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The angled shots are just picking up the glow from the IPS pixel alignment and perfectly normal. The other head on shots also look ok really. Very little clouding of bleed. Looks like you might have brightness up very high though still?

It looks fine to me too.

It might be worth checking TFT Central for some settings. They often post OSD calibrations without the need for a colorimeter. I suggested this to a friend and he ended up halving his brightness setting. It will probably look very dim at first, but your eyes will soon adjust and you'll have a much nicer image with less perceived glow. My U2711 is on 26 brightness. Anything much higher than 30 is blinding.
