Backlight bleed standards

Hi just bought a V7 L22WD 22" Widescreen and on the whole i have been very impressed, a minor bit of backlight bleed is noticable along the top and bottom of the screen but only on displaying a black background with the lights out. Other than this it is not noticible at all. It really is minimal, not sure whether im being too anal though. Just wondering is this the norm for most "cheap" 22 inch tft's these days as ive come from crt, what standard should i aim for, last thing i want is to send it back and get a worse one with dead pixels...currently which there are none of :)

i had the same on my vx2025 20 inch ws for the first few weeks, looked like an x pattern on screen but after a few more weeks of use it seems to have dissapeared, slight ghosting in fast moving fps games but i knew to expect that just give it a while and see what happens

I would keep the screen because of, as you say, the risk of getting one with dead pixels which would be far more annoying. I was in a high street store yesterday (the purple shirt place) and happened to see a TFT with a bright green stuck pixel, and OMG they are sooooo noticeable.

The V7 is IIRC the cheapest 22" screen, so you can't expect perfection in build quality. Plus you can read about people with the Samsung 225BW who have backlight bleed too and that's roughly £100 more.

Belinea is the cheapest IIRC.

Didn't realize the Belinea had come down to £211. Anyway, I have seen the V7 for cheaper than that, and it has DVI which seems to add a good £30+ to the price of a screen usually.

Dont get me wrong, its a cracking monitor for the money, just wondering everyone else's levels of backlight bleed but i suppose on screens like the v7 and belina it is unavoidable to a certain degree.
