Hi All I don,t want to sound thick ,but i have been reading in different threads and reviews on the net about something called backlight bleed ,or bleeding , what is this and how noticable is it ? the reason im asking is because when i think of bleeding i think of something bad like a fault

It's when you can see a sort of faint white glow around the edges of the screen, in some cases starting off quite bad but it generally grows faint as you move closer to the middle of the screen.

You can test if your own monitor suffers from it by using a plain black desktop background.

It's one of the qualities that helps to distinguish a poor display from a good one.

I used to worry about backlight bleed, and my Dell 2408 does have it on the left side. but it is only noticable on a plain background and not noticable at all during normal usage. It does'nt bother me now.

like this. glowing edges :(

with my screen, yes. all the time. the only time i cant see it, is if I have a very bright image on the screen. or a white webpage open (like google)

for me not much. games i cant tell, films abit on the left and right on very dark scenes but nothing to spoil the film, the top and bottom dont really matter as the video is usually letterboxed and for desktop not much too. Unless its really bad like Loque's it doesnt really ruin the experience.
