Thinking of cutting up my MB tray for a backplate cutout. Thing is I see there is no standard for cpu positioning with MBs. I just read a thread about somone with a pretty new HAF case, with a very big cut out but still does not show all the holes for the backplate with an asus mb.

I was thinking of doing this for my build soon and for less hassle in the furture. Now if all boards are different is it really worth my time trying to cut up my MB tray? And if it is what size?

There is no standard position for the CPU socket.
I used to hasve a DFI motherboard & cut my case to those dimensions. Now I have a rampage 3 & the CPU socket is not in the correct place.
To ensure you cut it correctly, you had better measure where the socket is in comparison to the motherboard tray.
