Hey guys,

I posted this question in servers with another question but had no response to this particular query!

I bought a used Asus DSBF-D12/SAS.Unfortunately, whoever owned it before me has replaced the stock backplates with something i assume for a specialist heatsink. I have just stock Xeon heatsinks, that need the screw sockets on the backplate, where as my backplates just have holes.

From this picture, backplates are something that wouldve come with the MOBO, but are they quite standard? I really could do with two of these!

Can you do it in the watercooling style? Bolts up from behind the board, through heatsink, secured with M4 nuts. Or otherwise just use 8 nuts on the other side of the backplates and use whatever screws are on the stock coolers (I haven't seen a stock xeon cooler, so don't know if this has potential or not)

the heatsink has built in screws, they are m3 or 6/32 by my reckoning! probably 6/32. Will probably solder some nuts onto the backplate i have right now and do it that way.

Cheers

Tom.
