Hi,

I have a 1gb usb stick that i am trying to get backtrack 3 on, i downloaded the usb file from remote-exploite. Extracted the Boot and BT3 folders, put them into my memory stick and run the bootinst.bat file.

But when i plug it into my laptop it just ignores it and goes into ubuntu[OS]
In BIOS theres only the option to;
1. Harddrive
2. CD
3. Floppy.

Nothing else in boot menu.

Any ideas?

Your BIOS will need to support booting from USB, if its an old board it might not work :( See if there's any hot keys you can press on boot, for example on my BIOS F11 shows a boot device screen that lists usb sticks for selection.

I would suggest just burning backtrack to CD if you can.

Yep, my laptop is pretty old, i had it on a cd but it wipes everything you do so i wanted it on a usb really.
