My brother got a 360 Elite for xmas and now Fallout 3 keeps randomly hanging...

Hes really far into it and doesnt want to loose his save games if it comes down to swapping consoles.

Does anyone know if theres a way of backing up his save game files?

Cheers.

If he requires a replacement console at any point, you keep the hard drive anyway, but he could by one of the memory cards and copy the save to that.

my sons 360 got the 3 rrod last night, they have now gone but it hangs on everything... 2nd time this console has failed. could you not ring microsoft, am sure you just send the bare console and not the hdd etc so effectively his saves would be ok as stored on the hdd.

I am ringing them tomoz for my sons and also for my elite wireless pad which refuses to connect..... M$ really p me off at times with their unreliability!! am swaying towards a ps3 more and more cos of these ongoing issues

Depends. If you return it to Microsoft directly you get to keep your HDD. If you return it to a retailer, it is at their discretion if you keep the HDD or not.

If you want to backup anyway, buy a memory card.

yep you keep hd,custom face plates etc etc.

sorry to steal your thread but i never realy use my xbox and it was one of the old ones im just waiting for the red rings of death..tbh im hoping for em me bros went,me m8 at work his went, his m8`s went etc etc ive had my near 3 years now what im asking is if mine dies and it goes past 3 years should i still be getting it fixed for free as long as its the red rings of death tbh i think i should as it was in an unfit state when i purchased it im sure trading std would look at it like that...right or wrong?

spoke to the ups guy today and apparently they are loving it as approx 2500 units a month are failing!!! not sure how accurate that is tbh but it does make you wonder if they have fixed it with all the changes since the originals... mine already had a new mobo once and failed again

trading standards should be on their asses full stop for selling shoddy equipment that works great for a while but as temperamental as my ex! :)
