backup drive lost

well this afternoon switched on my system and was downloading stuff to my hdd/backup drive and find its not saving to it i went to my comp and it shows my hdd as raw format (it was ntfs and its changed any1 know any good recovery programs as thats nealy 500gb of data gone really need some help here as i have work related stuff as well

GetDataBack or Recuva or very good.

Do not change the file system of the drive in question, also make sure you have another drive big enough to recover the files you want, ideally the same size but you can recover a little at a time.

backup drive means a 2nd copy of your data that you need

get two if you're going to use it like that tbh..


try running 'testdisk' on it, google it, it recovers partition table information (and ALL the data on the drive) if it's still 'there' on the disk

thanks for the help after looking around i found a program got everything back and now everythin has been copied to DVD just in case it goes wrong again
