Backup Exec for Windows Servers 9.1 - Creating a Erase for scheduling

Hi guys

we are using Backup Exec for Windows Server 9.1 v4691 at work.

using it with an external DLT tape drive.

I want to add an Erase Drive Function to the job schedule, but i dont know how to do it.

i have created a job for inventory and the daily backup but cant seem to add one for the erase.

i would like it to inventory first, then erase then backup (at certain times)

it has one erase function in the job setup section, but when i right click it, it says i cant modify it as its already active, this then just takes me to the properties of the erase job but everything is greyed out

but there is no erase job active, the only 2 things i have in the job monitor section is the inventory and daily backup.

we used to have it this way and it was fine, but the tape drive went faulty and i have just changed it for a new one.

any help much appreciated!
 
I have looked into something similar for older versions of Backup Exec, 7.x and 8.x. I could never find a way to do this, and i'm pretty sure that on the Vertias support website it said this was not possible.

However, that was a while ago, so things may have changed. Best bet would be to check the veritas website?
