Hi guys,

So some of you may remember a week back I asked about backing up exchange and most of you recommended Backup Exec.

So, I found we had a copy of 11d floating around and installed it on a dedicated backup server.

I've installed the remote agent on the Exchange server too.

I've set up a job to back up the information store but it fails as it says it needs a backup to disk folder that is located on a local NTFS disk (as in, on the backup server).

I mean, WHAT?

Whats the best solution here?

Yeah, its this, basically I want to backup to a seperate server / NAS box. So if I deselect GRT restore I loose the ability to do email level backups, as in, individual emails?

Is there where ExMerge can come in to play?

OK, thanks.

Just to clarify though, I alreay have 11d and the Exchange Agent both installed on the same box. I have now installed the Exchange Management conosole on the backup box too and its found my exchange org easily enough.

It still wont let me highlight "recover individual messages" though and moans that it needs a local NTFS data store for this task.

This is exchange 2003 btw

Any ideas?
