Backup Image to boot from.

Ok, so I need to backup my pc (one time) so if anything is to happen to my PC I can restore to this image. I have 1 DVD Drive and I would prefer if I could put the backup on the DVD, but will put it on the HDD if it is necessary or if its at possible put it on a pen drive or external HDD.

What I want is a program that will allow me to restore my computer without going into windows.

Windows 7 can create rescue disks and a restore image, does a similar thing to the following

Acronis (paid for)
Symantec Ghost (paid for)
macrium reflect (free)


If you aren 't considering using built in Windows 7 I'd consider Macrium, Acronis and Ghost in that order.

Acronis :/ i can try out the free trial but what will happen when the trial ends? Will the backup i created and the bootable USB external drive with acronis on be gone too?
