Backup Op could not be completed PS3

Hi,

Trying to backup my 'entire' old PS3 in one clean sweep, before my new slim turns up.. But i'm getting The Backup Operation could not be completed 8001002A I have a WD500 drive formatted to FAT32. Google not really coming up with anything of any use.

The only thing i'm concerned about it my SF4 save data which unfortunately cant be backed up any other way..

Has anyone had this problem and found ways to overcome it?

I could be wrong but I think even if you backup your entire system using the backup utility the SF4 save data won't be there when you restore it as it is tied to the system.

Is this true? I'll be gutted if it is.
