I need to build a backup solution for our home network. Would like to have it so that the computer can at a set schedule, backup important documents to a central storage device that is independent of any other system on the network. What would be my best options?

At the moment I am thinking along the lines of this netgear network drive

Does anyone have any better solutions, also anything more suited to the job of scheduled backups across the network?

Thanks

Hi, all systems run on Windows 2000. Backup requirements are pretty much just making copies of everything inside My Documents (excel spreadsheets mainly). It would also be nice to have the files scanned for corruption or errors before backing up, so that it ensures the backup is useful.

Thanks, will look into it.

By the way I have cancelled the order of the netgear sc101 as I wasn't aware it was windows xp/2000 only. As I have a mac aswell I have ordered the Western Digital NetCenter 320gb.
