Hi all,

I don't know whether this is even possible but I now have a linux box which I keep on 24/7, and wondered whether I could make use of today's high speed internet to backup my stuff to my parent's house over the web, and vice versa. Points which may be of interest are :

1) My parents use Windows 7
2) My router (Netgear WNR2000 v2) doesn't appear to have a site to site VPN setting.

Just wondered if anyone had any ideas or does similar please! :)

Rsync will do the job nicely.

- Setup an rsync server on the linux box.
- Use DeltaCopy as an rsync windows client.
- Configure and you have a good automated incremental backup solution :)

If you don't want to do the rsync route, you could setup an S/FTP server or similar and write some windows scripts to zip up files and send them over FTP to the server.

that looks great for the job! thanks very much! I can imagine with it being a linux program too that it won't gobble too much of my system resource?
