Hello,
We are Looking at updating the backup system in work.
We want to backup 6 servers 4 of them are file servers and 2 application servers. Total data atm is about 400gb but i do expect that to increase over the next 2 years.
I have looked at buying QNAP TS-659 Pro+ 6 bay NAS with 3x 2TB drives in raid5? this give me 2tb of storage and i have capacity to increase it when needed.
All the servers will then backup to the Qnap and then backed up to external drive and taken off site.
Another option is to buy a second Qnap and place it at the other end of the building so there are 2 copies of the data and 1 off site.
does this sound reasonable? it will cost roughly £1500 per qnap and drives. The data is not mission critical data but it is quite important.
