Backup vista

Hi, im going to be reinstalling vista on my comp tonight and was wondering if there is anyway to back up my settings and files to my storage hard drive, once i have reinstalled vista, just "run" the back up to restore all my setting etc.?

I've got "Windows Easy Transfer" on mine which could be worth a try, although I'm on Ultimate. I don't know if that's just Microsoft software though, it probably is. If you have a lot of 3rd party programs then you're going to have to look up individually which files you need to migrate over.

Check the vista dvd there should be a migrate prog on there
