Hey guys,

I was thinking of setting up a image of Windows 8.1 that's basic and preconfigured incase I need to format then I have everything ready and installed. I tried automated installs but nere mastered how to do them properly but with software so I juust insert a disc and install and theres loads of drivers on the desktop for each PC.

I was thinking of backing up Windows 8.1 as time goes on incase I wind up with a problem/virus. Which program is advised? Acronis, Ghost? I could format then instead of an image do this as a backup? However the image would be huge due to games so maybe I could do:

C:\Games\(All installed games go here)
D:\Games\(and here)

C is an SSD and D is a HDD. I would keep games in D that are old and wont benifet from SSD speeds but new games go in C, the SSD. Both Games folders can be excluded??

Anyway to backup game saves?

you could use "Windows System Backup" which creates a VHD file on an external HDD or network location.

you can specify what drives to include and you can restore just using the drive you backed up to and the Windows 8 CD
