Backup

I've spent the last few days formatting and setting up my windows XP install and now I have it spot on.

I was wondering how I could go about making a backup disk in case of any failures. I always backup my stuff (docs, music, pics etc) by simply copying it to an external hard drive every now and then, but what I'm looking for is making a recovery disk which if I somehow screw up my install I can simply format, then wack this recovery disk in and run that instead of starting from scratch using the XP disk.

Is this possible, and if so, what applications do such a thing?

Disk imaging would be your best bet by the sounds of it. The two main players are Ghost and Acronis TrueImage.

Or if you have a Maxtor or Seagate HDD in your system your could use DiscWizard or MaxBlast which are basically Acronis True Image minus one or two minor features....
