Bacon smells of fart

Just took some sealed bacon out the fridge, dated 18 Aug 08, when i smelt it, it smells of fart, has it gone off/bad? Can i eat it?

If it smells awful then definitely don't eat it. Take it back to the shop maybe and say it has gone off before the use by date.

Dunk it in bleach first to kill the germs and it should be fine.
