Hello,

Specs are Striker II Formaul mobo (780i), QX9650/4 gig ddr2 ram (*tracer balistics) Windows 7 Premium 64 bit

I was currently on 1901 Bios, and everything was working ok, but i decided to do an update - to "2201" I flashed it in windows (Ezflash i think, that came with my CD software

After restarting, I got just a b;lank screeen, and was unable to even get into set up form Bios. Nothing. After turning pc off overnight, it went a bit further than this - and actually booted to windows - but afrer 2 mins - it blue screened on me, and now every time i boot up,andafter the logo, it goes to "repair mode" Attempting repairs - but this just goes on - and on and on (left it for about 2 hours this morning, but nothing happened.

So, how do i get my pc to its original format?, and special tips/software apps to "Flashback" the bios?

PS: I know, if it aint broke...........:(

Will have a look thank

Tried the battery removal, but when i reboot it just keeps taking me to "start-up" repair, And if i select "start windows normally", it goes through the same loop again.

Like i said, it booted up this morning, and even started a vantage tes - but Blue screened on me and its "back to square one".

Thanks anyway, much appreciated

Does that board have the crashfree bios? have a quick google about if it has, this should be able to restore your bios.

it does according to the manual(ASUS CrashFree Bios2 utility)

it says:

""""the asus crashfree BIOS 2 is an Auto recovery tool that allows you to restore the BIOS file when it fails or gets corrupted during the updating process. you can update a corrupted BIOS filer using the MOBO support DVD thaty contains the Updated BIOS File""""

Am i assuming i have to make a DVD with the new bios on it or use the one that came with my MOBO?

Well, ive had a problem trying to flash fron the DVD that came with it (keeps asking me to create Sata Floppy disk) So i tried the EZ flash in the Bios itself (I missed that - a big doh there)! And when i selected that i was prompted to enter which bios to flash

Well, I had a USB with my "old" 1901 in, and clicked on that, and it erased the 2201 and said "updated bios press F1 to restart (or something like that)

Went to bios check, and 1901 was there. I cant get into windows though ATM (keeps prompting me for a reapair) so I am doing a IMAGE resore (from windows 7 backup - and takes about an hour with my 250 Gig image. Hope it restores ok (been gettins lots of blue screens interupting similar progress like these)

Thanks for your help

Hello,

I fixed this 2 days after i posted this thread. What i did was just put ONE stick of ram in, and it went to Bios, then I flashed Back to 1901. It wouldn't boot up with anymore ram sticks in. So i used the Bios flash utility 2, and did it that way. My pc was Dead as nails for a day or two and gave up on it.

Incindently, one of my ram sticks fail Memtest 86, so I think it depends what RAM you've got in perhaps?? (Tracer balistics here)
