Hi Guys

My Sapphire 5850 is kicking every games but that i play, but not bad company 2........

My Spec is:

Q660 2.4 Ghz
Sapphire 5850 HD 1024 GB
2 GB RAM
Be Quiet 530W PSU
720 GB HDD

im only getting 30-35 fps on 1440 x 900 @ 75 hz Medium - High, i get more on crysis...........

It might help if you oc your cpu to at least 3ghz, this is one game that benefits from quad cores.

i have a ****ty Foxconn Motherboard, what shell i overclock it to??? 3.0 ghz??

Also noticed you also have 2Gb of ram.

IF running a 64bit os, you could also put in another 2 gb.

If you want help overclocking, post in the overclocking section and Im sure loads will help.

UPDATE: i tuned my ATI catalyst options to my preffered settings and now with the following settings:

Everything High (Shadow, Effect, level of detal, terrain etc etc.....)
MSAA 8X
Antrasophic Filtering 16x
Res: 1440 x 900

im getting 40+ fps ;) really pleased

5850 should be more than capable of playing BC2 on high settings, as others have said, give your CPU an OC to 3GHz+ if possible, the Q6600 seems to be pretty good for that, and if possible you could drop another 2GB of ram in. Should have no problems after that.

will my mobo (foxcon rubbish) be a problem while overclocking. im getting a new mobo but is that a big problem?? and is it suitable for overclocking

BFBC2 plays REALLY badly if you don't have a quick enough CPU. Your CPU (The Q6600) REALLY needs to run faster than the stock speed of 2.4Ghz. If you run it faster it's called 'overclocking'. Running it faster will make everything in the game much much much more snappy and smooth.

It's not hard to raise the speed to 3.0 Ghz, and if you are lucky, you may get to somewhere between 3.2Ghz to 3.6Ghz (Maybe even more with very good cooling and luck).

But do as wingzero says in the post above. You won't really need to overclock the graphics card just yet, as that's not your problem. A lack of memory and your slow CPU speed are crippling performance.

OP was by my cousin but i have a similar issue.

hmm, I have a 4850 and e2180 cpu. I run BC2 at 1280, med details and its stuttery but playable.

Would I benefit from ocing my cpu?
