hey having a little bit of trouble here.... now i can barely fly heli's with a joystick.... let alone mouse and keyboard xP

i have a few questions tho.

i have a saitek cybory evo joystick (was great in bf2 :) ) but having some problems configuring it..

1) firstly i cant seem to have the joystick plugged in to run around, on the "on foot" settings its bound some joystick controls to running about, so when i have the joystick in i just spin round all the time. now i've tried all the usual ways to unbind something e.g. delete, back space, escape... but none of them seem to want to unbind the joystick controls :( :\ ....

does any one know how to do this xD probably just me being a complete noob :p

2) not sure if its the way bfbc2 is set up or if im missing something but on BF" it had acceleration/deceleration in the aircraft setings, which i would set the little paddel on the back of the joystick to so i could control the % of the throttle..

now when ive tried this on BF2, i put it to full to try and take off.... but nothing :\ all the other controls were fine with flying, just i had to use "w" and "s" for the throttle. anyone else had this problem? or is it the way its designed? cos if that's the case it's rubbish, i like having throttle control rather then ON/OFF :p

opinions, comments.... bring it :D
 
i would like to know how to delete a key as well
i was never be able to use the joystick in BC2 beta with the problems you have on foot with it active :mad:

in bf2 with that joystick you got ( i have the same one) you have to put the throttle in the middle and then when accelerate option comes push just forward or so i think and vice versa for the brakes. i'll have a look later again when i'm at home =)

From my experience it seems you have an up button and a down button to control hight in BC2, cant rember if you have to keep pressing the up button, but you certainly cant use a throttle control to keep it at a certain hight.

At the moment my joysticks twist left/right is reversed when inputted in the keybindings in bc2 but everything else works ok so far.
 
I think joysticks in this game are completely knackered. Seen quite a few complaints of them not working, lots of different ones not able to map the throttle wheel (or whatever it's called).

Some people have got around it by using their joystick software to map the joystick controls to the keyboard controls. Can't seem to do that with my microsoft sidewinder precision 2 though :(
 
Ive had similar problems trying to use a 360 controller, which is very strange since the game is out on 360 also, and most other new games support it out of the box. For a temp workaround i used Xpadder, im sure there must be a similar program for joysticks. Here's hoping they release a patch soon to fix this.
 
rihgt i used a button on my joystick to unasign everything but just using it over and over so i tried flying with the joystick.... they reversed the yaw and throttle controll though xP was rather interesting flying.... needless to say i ended up in the ground pretty quick lol
