Hi I thought I'd start a thread where people can post their personal tips and tricks on how to be good at bad company 2.

Personally I'm awful at the game and regularly finish with below 0.50 kpd, I dont know why because Im pretty good at BF2.

Please give me your tips so I can learn how to own at this game I want to adore but cant because Im so rubbish at it.

Press Q when you see someone.
Don't run in a straight line in an open area.
Don't stand still in the open looking at a UAV or anything.
Finish people off with a pistol instead of re-loading.
Spam Ammo crates/Medic Packs for quick points.
Don't run in the usual routes to the other MCOMs/Flags

I can't say I've been playing the game loads, like some. I'm about rank 5 now, you'll just get used to it over time and you'll slowly improve, I was getting terrible K/D but now I'm averaging around 1-1.5 so that'll do.

What doesn't help is the higher ranks, that have all the unlocks and weapons etc, makes them harder to kill and easier to kill you, so yeah it's difficult I'm hoping when I'm a higher rank it'll balance out a bit more

are you looking down your sights at the person when you do it? works great for me, in fact i spend most of the time up high with a rifle in my hand spotting every swine i can find, makes a massive difference to the game.

pressing q does NOTHING, is this a recognised bug or is it just me getting this

It does, from when I played the demo on x360 it was overly easy to tag people, almost like spamming, so I'm guessing they reduced this in the final version or made it harder to do

You don't have to aim down sights, if you look at at group of 3 people as long as there in the middle of the screen/crosshairs you will tag all 3 usually, like I said I think it has some sort of spamming prevention

Q is pretty important, ranks up there with dropping ammo if you're an engineer and medikits for the medic.

I'm inconsistent at the game, sometimes I'm good and have topped the table and other times I'm absolute garbage - depends on the map, at the moment I'm playing quite badly for some reason; but this is what I've learnt:

Don't stay in one place too long, move around a lot and use the not so obvious routes, no roads or frozen streams, water etc, walk through trees // bushes instead. Walking // running in water makes too much noise, you don't want to make too much noise either.

If you're trying to creep up on someone who isn't movnig, don't walk, crouch walk, it is much quieter and they won't hear you, just takes a bit longer.

Use sound to your advantage, if there's a lot of gun fire // explosions you can run all you like.

If as a sniper you kill someone while roosted, remember they get a nice view of your location so either move or get ready for them coming for you (or shoot them again which is always funny).

Smoke sniper roosts.

These are some ideas - I just wish I could use them myself! I am doing quite badly at the game at the moment, but I was playing it on the 360 before (with mates!) and its definately harder (better) on the PC.

If you spam Q when not looking at an enemy it gets turned off for three minutes or something. So no good looking out into the forest and just spamming it hoping to spot someone :)

Plus, just say you see someone, Shoot at them, press Q.

Even if you don't make the kill, someone on your team will --> Spot assist + kill assist = 40 points. A kill would have been 50, so it helps a lot.

Apart from the mini squad game type where kills are a priority, how do you guys get such high scores like 2.5k+?? I've never gotten a score like that, is it purely down to a higher rank or achievable by any?

Whats the general strategy for getting 1k+ *consistantly*?

Thanks

Kills and squad play mostly.

Once you start getting lots of kills, you get the various pins associated with them.

For example, 7 kills in a row without dying, 7 kills with a light machine gun, killing the same person 5 times, 5 assists etc etc (Not sure on the exact numbers, but they're roughly correct) - keep doing those and you'll get up there.

Then once you start getting lots of kills, with the various medals adding up every other round giving you either bronze/silver/gold/platinum... depending on which, you can easily get 10k and above.

For squad play or team work you can get even more points since it gives a bonus if you resupply/heal or assist your squad.

Anyway, take a look at the Insignia/Pins screen for a more accurate view of what I've muttering about.

Got an enemy you can't see who's hiding behind a concrete wall? Blast it! Enough bullets or an explosive will get through it nicely, which'll allow you to shoot the nice squishy hoomon behind it.

Use your brain! for example...

You are running around with a medic who is in your squad. The medic dies but you kill the person who killed them. Pick up the medics kit and revive them! You can always switch kits with the enemy you killed. I hardly ever seen people doing this.

Similar thing, if your squad has no one to give supplies when you kill an enemy who was playing as assault pick up their kit and throw down supplies for your squad.

Little things like this is what makes you #1 on the team.

Always spot, especially if you are a sniper with the 12x scope. You can often rack up 100's of points just by getting in a good position and spotting people.

Also, Wait for the right to time shoot! So many times i have seen someone before they have seen me and just panicked and shot at them. this normally ends up withe me missing horribly and them turning round and killing me. So, before you let some rounds of always make sure you are in a position to kill them first.

I used to be terrible at just reacting straight away if i saw movement but I have now learnt to assess the situation a bit better. I have found this to be very important in thsi game

Find a good squad is important. And again, the Q button is vital. If your squad leader or whoever wants to attack a flag/M-Com, they press Q, you all attack it and rack up loads of extra points for following the order.

Apart from that, it's all about the UZI. :D

ive found q doesnt work if ur pressing other buttons on the keyboard so bare that in mind. cant really give any other advice as i suck at bc2 so far. practice, practice practice!
