Bad Company 2 Tips :)

Whatever, you feel comfortable with at the end of the day is the better weapon. IMO

Most people claim the engineers stock Gun is *A9* think its called> Is crap, I love it for me its the best of the SMG, even though I know the UMP hits harder, and as better accuracy, the pp-2000 and uzi shot faster and have double the clip size. Those stats don't matter to me, the one that does is how well I perform that round with weapon x.

And for me the A9 shots 20 rounds of death I do best with this SMG out of all the SMG yet the stats say its one of the worst.

For the record I prefer the m95 over all the other bolt actions. I do best with that gun even though I know the stats on it make it no better than the m24, Gol etc etc. I still kill more people with the m95.

... no I'm still not getting it.

I'm trying to figure out the difference in playstyles between 2 snipers, 1 of whom uses the M24 and the other who uses the M95. The only difference I can think of is that the M95 user has to hide for longer between shots, because otherwise they are basically the same gun with identical playstyles.

You're just in denial.

I rock an M24 for infantry work and pull out the M95 to deal with UAVs and armoured vehicles faster (Shooting pilots for example)

They both have their merits depending on the map and likely targets.

The M95 looses a lot of it's pros when you play Normal mode as it has way too many dis-advantages. I never play Recon on normal though because it is utterly pointless. M95 shines in the right circumstances on hardcore. I think anything but hardcore is naff though.

There's nothing for you to get really. Nor anyone else.
I prefer the M95, i get more kills with it than other weapons and it doesn't hinder me.
End of really.
You 'getting it' isn't a requisite of my choice of weapon in BC2.

So on this subject... /end

I'm decent with this game I do get really bad frames though (10-12 on lowest settings), so I can't play the game right now but one of my good games was when I camped an objective and waited for the enemies just come in and kill them off, I was assault and was sitting next to a medic which helped a hell of a lot.

Uhmm No you ain't. :p

See above. You get crosshairs in SC mode. Making it considerably easier to aim.

I use my gun sights, wouldn't bother me if I didnt have the crosshairs

I've played on HC, it was easy, getting kills without even trying

I'm a Gol user still until I plat it. After that god knows, I hate long range sniping it bores me to suicide.

run at people and no scope them with the gol :p

It's still a 1 hit up close, but is slightly slower on the re chambering than the m24 or the sv98 (sv98 is great for no scoping but not great for quick scoping cause of the funny arrow sight on it)

Hi there,

I've recently started playing the multiplayer and it's amazing except for the guns.

I honestly have no idea how the classes work. COD is so much easier to work out and understand. Where are the scopes for rifles, where does it show me how many points I need to unlock such and such.

I'm using the recon class and the first sniper rifle claims to have full power yet when I shoot them in the chest they just run away, you need a perfect headshot to take them out... quite unrealistic for a sniper rifle.

Same with the engineer class, I'm shooting them for half an hour and nothing happens, they shoot me for a split second with there machine guns and bam I'm down.

So what weapons should I be using and what should I be aiming to work towards for unlocking etc.

I've not long been promoted to level 2. Is there scopes? Can I customise guns.

Basically if anyone has any tips or intructions... I want to hear them.

Cheers.

unlike a lot of noobs recon with sniper is fine if you actually move ! learn where people move take shot move be a team player.

do not become a lame medic !!!!! medic is the easiest lame class :( im hoping this is sorted for bf3 it really annoys me that you can spam a medic mg gun with little recoil on someone . you cant even hold a gun like that out never mind full blast and every bullet hits. if you want to go the lowbob route do this you will rank up quick but it really is low.

just try out a lot of classes try to find people to play with who know what there doing and are clean and not dirty.

dont really on vehicles like helis uav or any other crutch. basically learn the points of each map that matters at where most people will be for public play

Took me a month of messing around with my friends to get the ball rolling. I started as Assault because I was no good with sniper rifles, Medic Class seemed a bit crap without medkits and I felt SMGs weren't that great at the time. I was always switching kits with dead enemies anyway. I went and got all unlocks for the Assault in no time.

As it progressed I actually switched to recon and slogged that out til I got all the unlocks. Why? Motion sensors are a godsend to throw about. I was using some of the rifles with higher rates of fire but then as I progressed I realised that the NS2000 was too much fun. I got quite efficient with it, so that's how I got all recon unlocks.

Then it was between Medic and Engineer. I decided to go for Medic to at least unlock the medkits. I wasn't that great but borrowing other medics' kits was helpful, I ended up getting most of my points from team and squad heals. When I got the MG36, I found my perfect medic gun.

Then I completed engy, and I fell in love with the Krinkov. A while ago I decided to try something else and the UMP45 is quite beastly. There's minor differences between the two guns. Also, blowing up tanks. And Helicopters. It's fun.

Yeah just have fun and you'll get the feel for the game.

Edit: At the mo I'm running around chucking motion sensors and trying my hand at quick/no-scoping people on the battlefield. It's fun but not always worth it. But the team appreciates the motion sensors.

If you want a more 'realistic' (word used in the loosest sense) experience, start playing hardcore more.

Spotting remains, but all you do is call out to your team - none of this silly glowing triangle markers appearing everywhere.

Bullet damage is increased - nearly every weapon will drop you with a couple of well placed rounds. Snipers rifles will kill with one shot. It doesn't take half a magazine to kill someone, which leads to less of the mash-trigger-then-reload gameplay cycles of other shooters.

The HUD is also reduced, giving a much cleaner feel. No minimap. No ammo indicator. No crosshairs. I think it's a much nicer playing experience myself.

I should add, I actually have this game on console, so Im aware the PC experience will be different. The only problem, for instance, is that hardcore mode seems to breed recon players, which I hate. Not only is it annoying to play against a team of wookies hiding in the bushes racking up their kills and shooting you 0.05 seconds after you spawn, but nothing is more irritating to be trying to cap points or destroy MCOMs while half your team is sitting 15 miles back in the deployment area, or spending their time jumping around at random rocks and trees trying to find vantage points. I imagine this is less of a problem with the PC as servers can apply class limts etc?

Old post but

what is the difference between the 'grey' hardcore mode and the 'orange' hardcore mode?

Thanks :)

My advice is don't be a 'tard by sniping when you are supposed to be setting a charge in Rush mode as you are the attacking team.

You will learn quickly - I am by no means a 'pro' but I can join a game midway and still finish top of the team in both K : D ratio and points.
Sometimes I join a team with an awesome clan (by chance) and I come mid-table.
Unfortunately though some teams are so useless that coming top is do-able by a mid-skill player.

Oh one more thing, in Rush mode tanks must be used to push forwards - They are there to break the line. Shuffling forwards, shooting, retreating over and over to get a few kills WILL lose your team the round. I have been kicked from no end of servers for blowing up enemy tanks in their uncap, when their tank is hiding there and isn't man enough to come out and fight.

Spils tip number 3

If theres a guy called CTSpils on the other team. Walk to the flag, Flying will only get you killed

My tip would be, play hardcore.

The damage model in hardcore isnt as hardcore as in COD (takes more than 1 bullet to kill), but is much better than normal mode and it makes snipers 1 hit kill.

Oh crap, put your flamesuit on.

To shoot choppers/UAV's with a tank park it on an incline and lead your target (secondary gunner is awesome for this).

Also as people have mentioned SPOT, SPOT, SPOT! vehicles have a crap field of vision but if you light up the targets for them they will love you long time.
