Bad Company 2 VIP Code Error

I got BC2 delivered today and I tried to input the code as directed, every time I put it in I get an error saying they couldn't verify it etc. I've been putting it in the format of XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX and still no luck, any ideas?

This happened to me as well mate. I bought it brand new, not preowned.
When trying to input VIP code, it comes up "Can't be verified". Either it is entered incorrectly or it has already been used.

Ended up leaving it too late to do anything about it and all these new maps and levels have appeared.

Mines is brand new as well and EA support is****, tried to register an account on EA to ask for support but it just times out, useless.

Can someone explain to me how this ranking works? I played for like 20 minutes earlier, nearly got to rank 1 and turned it off. Most of my kills were with the sniper. I turn it on now, everything is reset. I thought okay, I'll play a while, sniped again. Got 5 or so sniper kills in a match there and check my stats, no sniper kills, no shots fired, no time with the weapon at all. I had unlocked the sensor earlier but now I haven't, wtf?

I never had that problem at all, except with the Thompson where it didn't record the number of kills, etc. :confused:
