bad cpu?

hi all

ive noticed when i use 1 core on this 4400 x2 cpu instead of 2 cores i get vertually no performance gains whatsoever?
so when i switch on both cores again when playing games etc i get maybe 2-3 fps increase
any1 else get this problem or do i have a duff cpu?

I would guess that the software you're not seeing any difference with is only single-threaded, so it will only ever use one core.

the game i tryed it with was colin macrae dirt i think this is optimised for dual core?

What was your max FPS?

I heard a rumour it maxes out at 30 FPS not sure if its true or not.

sorry i was laughing at the thread title saw you standing there wagging your finger at you cpu telling it it was bad.

i tried this the other day with the graw 2 demo went into task manager and turned off one core and tried to play it dam it was dog slow and lumpy was a complete nightmare. so no its not your cpu i would say if mine does the same on games
