Hey guys, this might be in the wrong place for which i appologise if so

I encountered a problem with my pc this morning, i tried to boot but my motherboard's cpu led was lit red, so i reset the cmos to reset my overclock, which ive been using stable i thought for months, and managed to boot up but received this strange sparkle effect on the bios screen as i had to set up my bios again, booted default settings at this point, and had the same sparkle effect on desktop and in a game, so i reset and now my screen is just full of green horizontal lines flashing across the screen

Checked all connections etc.. worked fine the day before, can a bad cpu cause this kind of issue such as 'artifacts' as recently my pc seems to hang strangely after booting, when pressing the start button my mouse lags and doesnt respond also ( windows 8.1 ) somethings defeintaley failed..
Have already rma'd the gpu after purchase, everything seemed to be working perfectly, now this morning its like nope.. whats going on?

Thanks for reading!

Asus m5a99x evo r2.0

That does sound like the GPU has failed again, can you see the GPU temps through the artifatcs with HW Momitor or equivalent program.

Also don't like the sound of the competitor named PSU, I would always go with a high unit from Superflower, BeQuiet, Seasonic to name a few.

Heya byd thanks for replying, last i checked was about a week ago after a session on nattlefield hardline and the temps maxed out at 72°C which is completely fine,

Only reason i said CPU is because of the CPU led being lit on my board this morning and the hanging on boot, i can try an check the temps later when i get home

Nope my board hasnt got onboard either, and i sold my older gpu so cant test that.. turns out my girlfriend dusted my pc while i was in work, hasnt worked since ffs

Nah not inside the case dude she knows better, im thinking shes knocked some wires about at the back, just read an article about hdmi leads and sounds like my issue, i shall check once ive finished work,

I had the red cpu led seen the artifacts and feared the worst, already had to fo throught the whole rma thing with my first card

All sorted, hdmi cable failed, replaced after i tried everything else, was about to box my card up :D

Thanks for all ze help though dudes!

Regards
