Bad CSS!

I don't understand why my CSS code for my menu items looks ok in firefox, yet dreadfull in IE. The URL is http://www.caerphillydragons.co.uk . The site is a work in progress and the other elements of the site are just rudementary content so that my dad thinks I'm making progress on his golf society's site, I know the text is dodgy too. Do I need to be stricter with my CSS or are my TAGS off? I can't really tell!!! Any help much appreciated.

I didn't use <tr> and <td> opening tags when I was listing me menu items! D'oh!!! Works fine now.
