Friend:
I got a New 280X

Me:
Cool, nice card

Friend:
Yeh, but the crossfire scaling is not working that well at all.

Me:
It worked well for me on 7970/7990 whats it doing?

Friend:
Well the fire in games or Google Music Screensaver does not show being any more fierce or cross than normal. it like Crossfire is not working?

Me:
... Haha.....

Anyway thought share by experience of the none tech savvies

You got any to share?

Doesn't beat the guy who was asking for help on here because his AMD 280 wasn't performing like reviews said it should. Turned out he had bought a GTX280 :D

When they have similar naming conventions it is easy for a complete novice to get confused especially if he is buying second hand through ebay.

But getting a GTX280 instead of a 280X is just :D

User: My new PC needs setting up
Us: No problem, it will get done quicker if you can bring the PC over to us, would that be an option?
User: Yes, that's fine - what do you need?
Us: We don't need the screen, keyboard, mouse or any of the cables, just bring us the box

About 30 minutes later user arrives with one, empty cardboard box that PC came in....

In fairness they did bring us what we asked for :D
