My Passat is in the Garage tomorrow for service and brakes so I was going to take the wifes MX5 on the 100 mile round trip to work. Went to fill it with petrol this evening and the wife pointed out that the steering felt funny.

On further inspection it appears that 3 tyres each have a nail in them which must be causing a slow puncture!

Although the P6000's have some good tred on them I'm going to get a full new set of boots. Having used a mobile service last week for 2 tyres for my car I've e-mailed them hoping for a slightly discounted quote for 4 new tyres on this car!

p6000s gash anyway, your wife probably got sick of hinting at how awful they made the car feel so she hammered nails into them to kill them as soon as possible. the tyres are made of a compound of steel and granite. they will last thousands of millions of miles and offer no worthwhile grip at all

That's very cheap, particuarly for tyres on a mid engined sports car

Good tyres for my MG ZR cost upwards of £100 each! (Toyo Proxes is about £90-£100, Michelin Pilot Sports £120, GSD3's, £120)

£120 for F1's? Blimey, thats how much an Eagle F1 is for the front tyres on a 530i with 225/40/18 tyres!

Just for reference, my GS-D3s were £86 per corner fitted in 215/40R16 flavour. No idea whats on the ZR though....

I paid £90 each last year for a pair of 205/50/16 F1s and the cheapest I could get them around here this time was £105 each.
