i posted a week ago about my pc not making post and in the end i phoned tech helpline and got a rma on the mobo p5q pro
was told it could be 5-7 working days before i heard out so i thought sod it and bought a new mobo (the sameone) didnt want to be without pc
so installed everything and booted up pc and everything was fine but now the same fault has happened again new board only lasted 4 days last board lasted 5months.
i was getting all fans starting except the gfx card fan but getting no display so i tried all the usual swapped ram etc and tried and a different gfx card still no joy
any ideas whats causing the problem would be very gratefull for any help
pc worked fine for 5months
vista 64bit
p5q pro mobo
E8500 wolfdale
bequiet psu atx650watt
evga 260 gtx
ocz 2x2gig plat ram
everything running at stock speed

Ensure that your mobo isnt shorting out on the case, EG all standoffs are fixed, if they are try running it out the case, cant think any other reason tbh
 
ok will give it a try if it is the case and has been shorting will this have damaged mobo as im wondering now if its damaged it wont work still, but could have beeen the cause
 
Hmmmmm sounds like these guys could be right or like you say your just darned unlucky man :) I mean I stamped on my computer once buggered eveything and bent the case ( 'twas by accident ) bought all new stuff 2 years ago still going strong and thats with the m/b mount all bent no shorts so yeah damned unlucky otherwise :)
 
wood is conductive :D - hence why lightening strikes trees :D

OMG trees are conductive because inside they are wet (sap ) thats why when lightning strikes they explode fram superheated sap ........ a wooden table is dry its all part of the wood mills process ......... wooden table will be an insulator :cool:
