Received a letter today from Citibank... http://www.3.je/citicard.pdf

Basically it's turned rubbish, 3% on fuel down to 1%, purchase cashback down from 1% to 0.25% and a cap on cashback at £120 per annum.

Time to ditch and switch I think!

i got this letter of fail this morning. unfortunately right now i also need to change my balance transfer card (i'm stoozing, go me) so i cant be making applications to replace it right now....

damn it, back to the drawing board :(

anyone else doing decent cash back at the moment? might just get an Amex card to stuff shell over for being so cheap ;)

Might as well get the Amex card and use the introductory 5% for three months and hope something better comes along.

Oh well, was good whilst it lasted.

My one got cloned and since then the helpfull chaps on the other side of the globe haven't set my online account up again so I may resign it completely to the bin.

They've shot themselves in the foot a bit I think - I won't be loyal to Shell any more, I'll just fill up wherever I happen to be when I need fuel as there isn't the 3% incentive, and they've changed the Drivers Club scheme to make that rubbish too.

I guess they realised it was unsustainable and they were losing a fortune so that's why they've changed it.

yer, 3% is a much more than citibank would make on the interchange - they 'may' have clawed it back on the card fees etc but i imagine that the majority of people using the card would be doing so specifically for the cheap fuel and thus would pay it off monthly.

Shame really, was good while it lasted... time to get some platinum in my pocket :D

**** :(

I gain absolutely loads of cashback through this scheme, to the tune of hundreds and hundreds per year. I feared that it would end as it did seem too good to be true. Thats another 3% on the cost of fuel then added to all of the upcoming duty and vat rises.

Its 1% on purchases however it also has a £1 a month fee if you are opening a new card (its free if you have an existing Egg Money card)
However, the price promise and extended warranty might make up for it - have a look here

Fortunately I've had the card pretty much since it was first released :)

Same, although luckily the M5 is parked most of the week now as I now get the tube to work rather than driving.
